What is it when you hear the croaks of bullfrogs, toy cars sliding down ramps, and the excitement of children discovering what is in an owl pellet? It is the Sam Rosen Elementary School Science Spectacular day of course!
Every year, Sam Rosen takes a day to celebrate science as a kickoff to the school's Experiment with Reading RIF. This year, students went to several classes throughout the day to learn about different aspects of science. Activities included science journaling, exploring the scientific method, exploring animal adaptations, and much more.
The favorite activity for most of the students was the Jungle Jim presentation. He brought many snakes, scorpions, frogs, lizards, and insect specimens for students to observe. Many of the staff members chose to have a more "hands-on" experience with the creatures.
Sam Rosen students then chose a free book to keep courtesy of Reading Is Fundamental to extend their science knowledge.
