Dunbar High School FIRST Robotics - Team 1642
Team 1642On Saturday, April 7, 2012, the Bell Sponsored Team 1642 won the Lone Star Regional in Houston, Texas while allianced with Houston’s 118 and the Hawaiian Team 359. 
 
What makes this victory even more special is that Dunbar competes against teams that are comprised of 40+ students, 15+ engineers, and 20+ parents & teachers.  Dunbar’s team is comprised of 8 students, 2 engineers, 1 software developer, and 1 teacher.  It is truly an underdog story.

The team members that worked hard to reach this insurmountable goal were:
 
Rosemary Vakapuna (12th) - Team Captain
Courtland MacQueenette (12th) - Co-Captain and Strategist
Deon Rodgers (12th) - Head Driver
Sierra Vakapuna (10th) - Driver
Michael Parga (12th) - Head Mechanic
Eduardo Arias (11th) -  Mechanic's Assisstant
