Students lead the conference, not the teachers!

Students lead discussion about their work at school.Leonard Middle School, an International Baccalaureate World School, held Student Led Conferences – conferences led by the student, not the teacher, the week of May 8th.  Every 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student met with a parent, faculty or staff member to celebrate his/her IB portfolio.  Papers from throughout the year were assessed by IB criteria in eight subject areas.  Students reflected on their work and made goals for next year.  One parent commented, “This is the best thing ever.  Every school should do this!”
