Javier Pantoja is the 2012 Social Studies Rapoport Rising Star Outstanding Teacher honoree presented by The University of Texas at Austin Texas Exes.  Principals from private and public schools make nominations for this prestigious award.  Mr. Pantoja's name was submitted by former Poly principal, Gary Braudaway.  All nominees are reviewed by a blue-ribbon panel including former recipients, education faculty, a future teacher, and alumni leaders. 

Each year, in cooperation with the Texas Exes alumni association and the College of Education, the University recognizes ten Texas high school teachers and two elementary school teachers with the Texas Exes Award for Outstanding Teachers.
