South Hi Mount Elementary School hosted its First Annual 5K Fun Run and Fitness Day on Thursday, April 5.
The day began with a 5K fun run at 8:30 a.m. around the neighborhood and Stripling Middle School track. Constable Sergio De Leon volunteered his staff to assure students stayed safe during the event.
After the 5K, rotations began at 10 a.m. Students took part in many other activities such as jump rope, karate, soccer, yoga, Zumba, and belly dancing.
"We hope that students will realize how much fun they can have while taking care of themselves and living a healthy lifestyle," said Principal Carla Coscia.
