Paschal HS Academic Teams Compete in UIL Regional Competition
The Paschal High School Academic Teams recently traveled to Texas Tech University to compete in the Regional UIL Competition. It was a great weekend of academic competitions and many students have earned the opportunity to compete at the State level in Austin toward the end of May.

Below are a few of the highlights:

Computer Science (Coach Gary Hicks)
The Computer Science team won 1st place at region and will now advance to STATE!!
Team Members: Matthew Roberts, Luke Willson, Dominic Yurk, Alex Hulen

Current Events (Coach Michael Kelley)
The Current Events Team fell just short of advancing to State (third place team).
Team Members: Abrahim Sharaf, Avinash Murugan, Amy Kruzick, Charles Jang

Spelling and Vocabulary (Coach Crissa Sigl)
Amy Nguyen finished third place individually at Region and will be advancing to STATE!

Feature Writing (Coach Crissa Sigl)
Sarika Sabnis wrote a fantastic article, but will not be advancing to State.
Making it this far is a huge accomplishment for a freshman!!!

Science Team (Coach Andrew Brinker)
The Science team won 1st place at region and will now advance to STATE!!
Team Members: Alex Hulen, Dominic Yurk, Charles Jang, Mr. Brinker, William Lyles

Math Team (Coach Heather Denton)
The Mathematics Team finished in 2nd place and Dominic Yurk finished 3rd overall. Dominic will advance to State!
Team Members: Luke Willson, Dominic Yurk, Emily Meigs, Matthew Roberts

Number Sense Team (Coach Heather Denton)
The Number Sense Team finished in 5th place.
Team Members: Junsung Lee, Emily Meigs, Amritha Gourisankar, Matthew Roberts
