Does a student have to go into the military after taking JROTC?

No, there is no service obligation for taking JROTC.



How much does the uniform cost to be in JROTC?

The uniform is provided free in JROTC, the only cost is for cleaning and any lost items.

Do you get any credit for JROTC?

PE or elective credit is given for the four years of JROTC.


Do you have to wear the uniform?

Yes, wearing of the uniform is a required activity weekly on the specified uniform day.


Can a student get any advanced placement in the military service for being in JROTC?

Yes, a student that successfully completes at least two years of JROTC can receive an advanced enlistment grade in the military service or advanced placement in the college level ROTC.


What is JCC?

JCC is the Junior Cadet Corps, a program to meet the needs of teaching citizenship and leadership at the middle school to 7th and 8th grade students.


Do JCC students wear a uniform?

Yes, however the student must purchase the uniform.


Do JCC students receive credit for this program?

Yes, PE credit is given for JCC at the middle school level.


Does a JCC student get credit in High School JROTC for JCC?

JCC Students retain their rank in JROTC, but do not receive any academic credit for JCC at the high school level.


Which schools have JCC or JROTC?

All high schools in FWISD have JROTC. The number JCC middle schools are growing; to check for JCC units see the JCC Program page.
