Polytechnic High School

PRINCIPAL: Mr. Gary Braudaway

SAL MAJ (Ret) Charles Brent - Assigned to Polytechnic HS in August 1991. The JROTC program has continued to improve as a result of his leadership and dedication to the students. He has earned the respect and admiration of school administrators, the faculty, and the community. His last active duty assignment was with III Corps at Ft. Hood, Texas, where he served as the S-3 for the Corps Personnel Group, and as the Chief of the Corps Personnel Processing Branch during mobilization for Operation "Desert Storm." His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.

Al: 1SG (Ret) Terrence Campbell - Assigned to Polytechnic HS in August 2009. He is a driving force in teaching and motivating the cadets to "Never Quit", no matter the challenge. His last active duty assignment was with Charlie Company 404th Aviation Battalion, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas, where he served as the Company First Sergeant. His Awards include the Army Bronze Star Medal (10LC), Meritorious Service Medal (10LC), the Army Commendation Medal (40LC), the Army Achievement Medal (30LC), the Air Assault Badge and numerous others not listed. He was also inducted into the Prestigious Sergeant Audie Leon Murphy Club which represents 1% of the United States Army's elite Noncommissioned Officers and presented the Sergeant Audie Murphy Medallion.

JROTC ESTABLISHED: 1920


The JROTC Battalion is an integral part of the school, playing a significant role in support of school activities and projects in the community. The Battalion earned the "Honor Unit" designation for the first time in SY 89-90, and is currently designated an Honor Unit.
