Math Events
Fall Festival
The annual Fall Festival was held October 21, 2009, at Will Rogers Memorial Complex for all the District's middle and elementary students and their families. Each middle school set up a math and a science booth, and participants enjoyed make-and-take activities, games, and experiments. An estimated crowd of 6,000 attended.
Entertainment was provided by the Arlington Heights High School Steppers and the Ballet Folklorico group from Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School. Students from various other high schools performed cheers.
Math and Science Teacher Appreciation Night
The Human Resources Department, in conjunction with the Mathematics Department and the Science Department, hosted a Math and Science Teacher Appreciation Night on October 21, 2009, at the Rose Marine Theater to honor the District's math and science teachers and celebrate the progress made through the Math and Science Initiative.
Brian Malow, billed as the Earth's Premier Science Comedian, provided the night's Laugh Lab entertainment, and Dr. Melody Johnson spoke.
