Unlike other financial reward programs, PEAK uses the Value-Added model, which measures student progress during the school year. Experts say Value-Added measurement more accurately reflects the impact of quality teaching on student growth.
PEAK is also unique in that it rewards teams of teachers. This encourages collaboration, cooperation and professional growth – not competition. At PEAK schools, teachers have the opportunity to earn bonus pay be being successful members of four different kinds of teams:
The schools participating in PEAK are Dunbar HS, Eastern Hills HS, Polytechnic HS, South Hills HS, Diamond Hill-Jarvis HS, Dunbar 6th, Dunbar MS, Handley MS, Kirkpatrick MS, Meadowbrook MS, Como ES, Morningside ES, Oaklawn ES, Sunrise-McMillian ES and Turner ES.
PEAK is funded by the state DATE program and matching funds from the Fort Worth ISD.
