SDFSC Program Initiatives

The Fort Worth ISD Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Program has several initiatives focused on meeting the needs of our schools.  These intitiatives include:

40 Developmental Assets

This program focuses on how schools and the community can work together to build assets within our children.  trainers are available to come to your school or community group to provide an overview of this research and strategies for implementation.

Project Protect

Our district was one of only two districts selected statewide to participate in this program presented by the Texas School Safety center located at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.  During the 2009-2010 school year, the Texas School Safety Center will provide Fort Worth ISD with a comprehensive program to limit susceptibility to a violent incident, increase the management capability of any hazardous situation and increase safety for children in FWISD schools.
