Fort Worth ISD Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Program
Life is full of challenges and risks. It is essential we equip our young people with the skills they need to be successful. The Fort Worth ISD Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities program provides prevention education programs that address risks such as alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, bullying, dating violence, school safety and more.
Prevention education encourages students, staff, parents and the community to work together to confront these risky choices and create healthy behaviors and lifestyles. We also seek to:
-
work with all Fort Worth ISD students
-
create campuses and communities that are safe and free of violence
-
eradicate the illicit use of tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs
-
resist other risk factors that may impede learning and achievement
-
promote healthy choices and behaviors among youth
-
create disciplined environments that aid learning
-
involve parents and other adults, building "prevention coalition" within entire communities and
-
utilize federal, state and community efforts and resources.
The Fort Worth ISD Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities program is committed to providing research-based programs and services.
