Prevention Education Presentations
The Fort Worth ISD Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities program provides prevention presentations that address risks such as alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, bullying, school safety and more. The following presentations are available to students, staff and parents/community. These presentations are tailored to the audience with the length and content of presentation adjusted to meet their needs.

- 40 Developmental Assets: Learn more about how you can impact school climate and improve academic success by building assets with your students.
- Bullying: Keep your students safe by learning more about bullying, current trends, strategies for prevention and intervention.

Conflict Resolution: Are you experiencing conflict at your school or in your home? Learn strategies that will help you resolve conflicts in a positive manner.

Dating Violence Awareness: This presentation helps participants learn about healthy relationships and the impact of dating violence (student presentation is required by is HB 121 for high school students).

Gang Awareness: Are you concerned about gangs in your neighborhood? Learn strategies to help your students make positive decisions and resist gangs.

Peer Mediation: Peer mediation is an effective strategy for getting students involved in resolving conflicts on your campus. This training will provide an overview of how to organize a peer mediation program and train your students to be mediators.

Safety in Cyberspace: Technology is a wonderful tool, but when used to hurt others it can become dangerous. This session will provide an overview of the cyber bullying, sexting and other trends in technology and strategies for keeping students safe.

Substance Abuse: Do you know the current trends, signs, symptoms and drugs currently used by your students? Talk with a prevention specialist to schedule one of our many presentations focusing on substance abuse.

True Colors: This presentation will be available in August 2009. True Colors is a fun, interactive program that helps participants gain a better understanding of self and others which can result in more harmonious, productive environment.

Wellness: Life in general takes a toll on our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being. This presentation will help participants learn how to build a foundation for personal wellness.
