Intervention Services
While we know that school is the most important event in a child’s life, there are many additional events occurring simultaneously with education. Sometimes, these other life events impact a student’s ability to achieve his or her academic potential. To better support students during such times, Intervention Services are available.
The purpose of Intervention Services is to enhance student academic achievement by delivering programs and services that address the behavioral, emotional, and social needs of students. Our focus is on students at the secondary level who are experiencing difficulties either within or outside of the school campus. Our intent is to help students find coping strategies and solutions that enable them to return to a healthy level of functioning in life and to improve performance in the classroom.
Services are available on-campus at middle and high schools. Each high school has 1 full-time, dedicated Interventionist and middle school campuses are paired to share 1 professional who travels between the 2 campuses. A sampling of the services that Interventionists provide includes:
-
Psycho-education through individual and group counseling
