North Side Mariachi Racks Up More Honors

Fort Worth, Texas – At the recent UIL State Mariachi Festival Mariachi Espuelas from Fort Worth ISD’s North Side High School received a First Division rating from each of the judges. North Side Mariachi as the only school outside the Valley of Texas to receive this prestigious honor.

This was the second annual UIL Festival and hosted 72 schools that advanced from regional competition.

In addition to the group success, the judges awarded each of North Side students an individual Outstanding Performer Medal for their individual contributions as vocalists and instrumentalists to the group.  Mariachi Espuelas was only one of two schools to have each of its members awarded this medal.
