Jr. All StARS Services for students in grades K-2

  • Students attend a half day workshop once a week for six weeks to learn critical skills to improve their classroom behavior. All StARS staff provides classroom and individual student support for a period of nine weeks.
  • Teachers will attend four informal round table discussion groups that are held for one hour after school. Teachers will celebrate successes, preview upcoming skills, and collaborate on behavior strategies that will improve their students’ behavior.  
  • An introductory parent meeting is held before the student attends a workshop. Parents learn the skills and strategies the students will be taught and how they can support their child at home.

All StARS Services for students in grades 3-5

  • Students attend a three day workshop to learn critical social skills and strategies that will assist them in improving their school behavior. All StARS staff provides classroom and individual student support for a period of twelve weeks.
  • Classroom teachers attend a pre-workshop meeting to learn skills and strategies that they will be expected to implement to support their student upon their return from the workshop.
  • An introductory parent meeting is held before the student attends a workshop. Parents learn the skills and strategies the students will be taught and how they can support their child at home.
  • Mentors are chosen by students as someone on their home campus that will support them in the changes they are making in their behavior.  Mentors see the student each day and encourage appropriate behavior by reviewing the student’s goals, coaching ways to reach those goals, and recognizing progress being made.

Services for whole classrooms
All St.A.R.S. staff are available for consultations for classroom management issues, motivation systems, modeling social skill lesson, routine rules and procedure development, etc.

Services for whole schools
All St.A.R.S. staff are available for consultations and problem solving on school wide discipline issues such as hallway, cafeteria, recess, and bus behaviors. We are also available for staff training and resource sharing.
