Deaf Education & Vision Services

Regional Day School Program for the Deaf

The Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) serves eligible students with auditory impairments (AI) aged birth through 21 years of age. THe program serves students from the Fort Worth ISD and the seven member districts of our shared services agreement.

Member Districts are:

  • Aledo ISD
  • Azle ISD
  • Castleberry ISD
  • Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD
  • Lake Worth ISD
  • Northwest ISD
  • White Settlement ISD

The RDSPD may provide any of a continuum of services from attendance full time in one of the RDSPD classrooms to consult services in the home school. A certified teacher of the deaf provides all AI services where instruction is required. Some students attend general education classes with a sign language interpreter. The student's IEP committee must recommend any service provided by RDSPD personnel.
