Itinerant Services
Fort Worth ISD provides supplemental services to identified special education students who required those services based on the recommendation of the student's IEP committee. These services are provided only when they are necessary for the student to make progress on his/her IEP goals.
These services include a variety of related and instructional services. Related services may include occupational therapy, physical therapy, orientation and mobility training, audiology, health services and/or transportation. Instructional services include speech and language therapy, adapted physical education and/or specialized instruction from a certified teacher of the deaf and visually impaired.
Itinerant services may be delivered only at the recommendation of the student's IEP committee. The required services may be delivered in the classroom in a pull out program or by consultation.
Fort Worth ISD employs the following itinerant personnel:
- 65 Speech/Language Therapists
- 14 Occupational Therapists
- 7 Physical Therapists
- 3 Audiologists
- 9 Adapted Physical Education Teachers
