Transition Services
College Internship
To experience the college freshman environment, students with mild disabilities attend a six-week program provided jointly by Fort Worth ISD and Tarrant County College South Campus. This helps students make the transition to this study environment and participate in post-secondary educational opportunities.
Transitional Skills Program at Tarrant County College
The mission of the Transitional Skills Program is to enhance the quality of life for special needs individuals by empowering them with the tools they need to meet the challenges that will confront them as they make the transition from codependency to independent living in the real world.
Community Work Experience Program
This is an extension of the Transition Center services available to special education students. Training experience will be offered through mobile crews, enclaves, and/or supported jobs.
Vocational Adjustment Cooperative
To give students the experience of competitive/gainful employment during the high school years through placement and supervision in a genuine employment situation with part-time work and some high school classes or full-time work.
PREP (Preparing for Real Employment Possibilities
A comprehensive career exploration program to prepare special education students for more intensive vocational classroom training or on-the-job training.
Summer PREP
A summer youth program which provides career exploration for students with mild to severe disabilities.
Transition Center Mall at University Plaza
An on-the-job training program in a realistic work environment for the more challenged students with disabilities.
