And the winner is...
BENBROOK MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Fort Worth Independent School District is proud to present the first-ever Fort Worth ISD Webby Award to Benbrook Middle School. Congratulations!
Each month, the bronzed trophy will go to the school whose campus website best represents online excellence. The award recognizes the achievement of those individuals who maintain the District's individual campus websites, as well as the administrators, faculty and staff members who support them.
6th Grade Math Teacher Ryan Peterson leads the online effort at Benbrook Middle School. Principal Sarah Weeks says he constantly updates the website and the school's official Facebook page with the most up-to-date information.
"His dedication to our students, school and community is greatly evident in the amount of time and effort he puts into updating our information," Weeks said. "Frequently parents send community information and pictures of school events for posting. They are also a reason that our website as good as it is!"
Peterson says it was critical for the new school to make a statement with its campus website from the start.
"Our website is our campus’ digital presence," he said. "It is important that it be just as attractive and up-to-date as the building is."
Peterson says winning the Webby Award is a wonderful honor.
"I’d like to thank our principal Sarah Weeks for her ongoing support of the website and her deep appreciation of technology’s role as a device for education and communication," he said. "I would also like to recognize our outstanding faculty, staff, and students (and their parents) for the fantastic work they do every day in our building. Go Bobcats!"
