And the award goes to...

Benbrook Middle School

The Fort Worth Independent School District is proud to recognize Benbrook Middle School for having the Campus Website of the Week for October 29 - November 2, 2012.  Congratulations!

Campus Website of the Week is designed to recognize schools for their online efforts to inform, engage and entertain members of the campus community.

Each month, the District issues a challenge to encourage schools to utilize their campus website to communicate with students, parents and more. Finalists are selected for Campus Website of the Week, with the overall winner taking home the coveted Webby Award.

The challenge in November asks campuses to showcase being "Thankful For Our Students!" The website should be the go-to place for information about the school. This means visitors should find updated photos, videos and campus news on each school's website.

Benbrook's Campus Web Manager Ryan Peterson said, "In the digital age, communication is cruical to the success of the organization. We have to be prepared to give parents and students the information they need."

The Benbrook Middle School campus website has up-to-date campus news and "Recently Seen Around Campus" photo galleries!

"If parents know what is going on at school, logically, they are inclined to have more of a stake in what goes on at the school," Peterson said. "If they have more of a stake in the school, then we see improvement in grades, fewer disciplinary problems and a greater level of community involvement."
