Theater Arts

“Theater allows children to express themselves as individuals, and through exploration and experiential learning accomplished in acting, kids learn more about who they are and how they can use their talents widely, carrying ideas and skills from theater into the classroom. Finding the power and voice within themselves to make characters, plots and emotions come alive, not only boosts confidence, but brings forth a realization in children that they have a range of abilities beyond what they may have thought. Tapping into that shows them there are various ways to focus energy and attention. When children can learn to portray a feeling or thought, or can act out a scene, they become more dimensional and grow emotionally and socially. Theater is a forum for children that showcases and nurtures notions of acceptance, vulnerability, leadership, public speaking and creativity…”
