Mrs. Montes

My name is Alexandra Montes and I am excited and happy to get to be a part of the Versia L. Williams community. I was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to the United States when I was 5 years old.  During the course of my 21 years as an educator, I have spent most of my time teaching in the East, West, North and South Side Communities. I am a proud graduate of Texas Wesleyan University and Concordia University at Austin where I obtained my latest degree in Educational Administration. I began my Education career in White Settlement ISD before starting in Fort Worth ISD. This is my 21st year in Education and 6th year as a Principal.

One of my core beliefs is that no matter who you are or where you've come from, you can always change and become a better version of yourself. I instill this in the students, staff, and school everyday!

Mrs. Askew

I am a native of Birmingham, Alabama.  I began my teaching career in Cedar Hill ISD in 2001.  After serving the students and families in Cedar Hill ISD for two years, I decided to move to a larger school district.  Fort Worth Independent School District gave me that opportunity in 2003!  I have been fortunate to serve in several capacities within and outside of Fort Worth ISD.  Throughout my entire educational career, I have served as a Teacher, Mathematics Coach, Instructional Coach-OII, Curriculum Specialist, Core Curriculum and Innovation Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Principal.  I have served in the field of education for 18 1/2 years.

I received my Associate of Arts in Science degree from Faulkner University, my Bachelor's degree in Allied Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and in 2011, I received my Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas!

I thoroughly believe that ALL children can learn provided the equity and access to a quality curriculum, instruction, and a teacher that is willing to care that these tools are present daily.

I love spending time with my family, which includes my husband of 35 years, daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and my beautiful granddaughter.  I am excited to be at Versia Williams Elementary and I am happy to serve you!
