Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Dale Erves
I am Coach Erves, I have had the great pleasure of meeting and speaking with most of you this week, and I look forward to building upon our relationships as this year moves along. I am excited to be your teammate and helping each of you in every way that I can to ensure you are successful, that is what a good teammate does. In addition, I will be attending many activities throughout this year to show my support, passion and spirit for Elder, our tremendous programs, and most importantly, our precious students.
I am coaching football, and I wanted to share with you the exciting new things that you will notice and become proud of from our football players and other student-athletes this year. I am big on character, accountability and establishing the proper culture within our student athletes on our school campus. While this shift in character building and culture development will take time and persistence to fully develop, I am committed and determined to teach, model, and exemplify the desired non-negotiable values within our student athletes that will lead them to be academically successful and become leaders within our campus community.
Attached you will find my grade check form that our football student-athletes will be giving you to fill out and sign on Thursdays of each week. I want to thank you in advance for being a great teammate to me and taking the time to complete your part on the form. It is a simple process that will enable me to monitor their grades and behavior each week to ensure that they are always working towards becoming the best version of themselves and are academically successful. It is a fairly easy to read form that holds the student-athlete accountable, as you will see that there is an area on the form where they must write what their goal for the current six weeks will be. They must stick to it, work towards, and earn their goal. I have a plan in place that will provide support, such as tutoring, for student athletes identified as needing it and an action plan to modify and improve behavior when needed. I wish the best to each of you and hope that you have the most amazing year! GO YEARLINGS!!!
