Curb the Summer Slide
What are your child’s summer learning plans? It’s not too late to help curb the summer slide. Summer slide refers to the loss of reading and math knowledge over the summer months. Some experts say that students may lose up to two months of these valuable skills, and many teachers spend part of the new school year re-teaching those lost skills.
That’s why it’s so important to provide learning activities and experiences for your child throughout the summer. Below you’ll find a list of resources, ideas and local places to visit for family fun and learning! Stay engaged in learning this summer—it matters!
