• Who has to fill out a VOLY application and undergo a background check?

    Posted by:

All volunteers who wish to volunteer in our schools must fill out a new VOLY application and consent to a background check except for any volunteers whose background check was conducted May 1, 2018 - July 9, 2018. These volunteers were ‘grandfathered’ into the new VOLY system. They received an email this summer asking them to activate their VOLY account.

A volunteer can create a VOLY account using their cell phone number, such as Ex. 2125551212@txt.att.net

    • Go to https://fwisd.voly.org/
    • The right side of the page says “Don’t have an email? Use your cell number and carrier extension.”
    • Below the link is text that reads, “Click here for instructions” to go through the process of using your cell number to create an email account.

Parents are encouraged to create a free Gmail account. They can use this email account for other district-related tools including online registration and parent portal.

  • What is involved in becoming an approved volunteer?

    Posted by:

A volunteer must complete an application, consent to a background check, and review the online orientation before the approval process is complete.

    • Go to https://fwisd.voly.org/
    • Fill in the fields to create a VOLY account
    • Click the green Create Account button
    • When filling out the application, be sure to check all required boxes and fill in all required fields
    • After reviewing the online orientation, be sure to check all boxes and fill in all required fields to show completion of the orientation. These final requirements are located just below the last slide in the orientation.

Leaving any step out may delay a volunteer’s ability to begin volunteering on campus.

  • What is the new check in and out process on campus?

    Posted by:

Beginning this school year, all visitors to a campus will check in with Raptor. Volunteers will check in with Raptor and VOLY using a two-step process. Raptor requires the use of a photo ID and VOLY requires the use of the volunteer’s email address. A volunteer will turn in their visitor’s badge to the front desk when their volunteer assignment is complete.

    • Log in as a volunteer at https://fwisd.voly.org/
    • Click on ‘My Hours’ on the dashboard
    • Select ‘Log Hours’
    • Click on the opportunity they want to log hours for

  • What happens if a volunteer signs up for an opportunity but has to cancel?

    Posted by:

The volunteer goes to the calendar and removes themselves from this shift/event by merely unclicking their participation. They are then removed from that shift/event in VOLY.  VOLY does send an email to the campus contact in charge of that event advising this has happened. In addition, when the campus contact is reviewing the opportunity they will see there is an open slot now.
