Parents as Teachers

Sheila Sanchez

My name is Sheila Sanchez. Growing up in a home of educators in Puerto Rico, I knew from the age of six that I wanted to be an educator. I earned my degree in Elementary Education in the University el Turabo in Puerto Rico. I enjoy teaching children and adults as well. As a Parent Educator, I have the opportunity to teach both! We focus on promoting optimal early development for young children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.

Christian Alvarado

My name is Christian Alvarado, Lead Parent Educator with the FWISD Parents as Teachers Program. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2012 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and from Tarleton State University in 2014 with my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction. This year marks my 10th year of service with FWISD, two of the years here at Glen Park Elementary. I enjoy educating adults and children alike because I believe everyone should have an equal opportunity in receiving a high quality education. I take pleasure in seeing learners learn new concepts and become successful lifetime learners. I strongly believe in “Education is the Key to a Successful and Prosperous Life.”
