KIDS HOPE USA
Building caring relationships…
One CHILD, One HOUR, One CHURCH, One SCHOOL
KIDS HOPE USA is a nationwide, school-based mentoring program that focuses on elementary-age children. KIDS HOPE USA mentors use a weekly one hour “event” to build a relationship focused on the child’s emotional, social, and academic needs. The result: Changes in attitude, behavior, and academic performance.
One child, one hour is the heart of KIDS HOPE USA. One caring adult mentoring a child for one hour every week can result in a huge impact. Because when kids feel like they belong, they are better able to learn, grow, and succeed.
All mentors at George C. Clarke are members of Travis Avenue Baptist Church.

Academy 4
We connect churches to schools and communities through mentoring 4th graders in leadership. We provide a mentor for EVERY 4th grader in the economically disadvantaged schools we serve. Our volunteers serve together once a month for 90 minutes and mentor the 4th graders in leadership. They express love and care and provide the students with a positive relationship with a dependable adult.

Leaders 5
The LEADERS 5 program builds upon what students previously learned in Academy 4, placing special emphasis on being a leader in the school and community service. After receiving the benefits of mentoring in 4th grade, our 5th graders get the opportunity to mentor 1st graders in their school. First grade students receive the gift of mentoring from their very own 5th grade mentor each month by having them as a guest reader and completing crafts related to the leadership trait of the month.
