Welcome To Math
I M Terrell Parents,
I would like to introduce myself to some and reintroduce myself to others. I am Mrs. Carr and I
will have the pleasure of teaching your son/daughter in Pre-AP Accelerated Geometry (2nd
semester) which means that we are covering 1 year of Geometry in 1 semester. The
content is rigorous and fast-paced, and therefore, completing homework on time, organization
and time management will be key to the success of our apprentices!
The course will cover the Geometry Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills which can be found on the TEA website. The major topics explored in this course will: focus on more precise terminology, symbolic representations, and the development of proofs; explore coordinate and transformational geometry, congruence, similarity and trigonometry; extend knowledge of two- and three-dimensional figures, circles, and probability. We will also give some attention to number sense to increase quantitative awareness.
