I grew up in Switzerland within a family of musicians. My first piano lesson was at age 5 and by age 8 I was the pianist in a school jazz band. Nonetheless, I pursued a decades-long career in construction. It was not until I met my art teacher wife here in Fort Worth that the education bug bit me. We are married 18 years and have a 7 year old daughter.

Fun fact: I originally came to America to become an airlinepilot!

I have taught and conducted an Italian church choir ages 6 -16 in Switzerland, as well as violin lessons. This is my second year in the FWISD.

As a young child, music was my rock, my safety net, my escape room. I strive to provide a safe place for all students; Safe from judgement and safe enough for everyone to experiment, explore and improvise. To create this type of environment, I often put myself on the spot by humming or making other strange noises in front of the students. My hope is for children to realize that making mistakes when you create is no big deal. After all, it’s the best way to learn. I also hope to open their minds up to the great variety of music out there. It is the great universal language that can bring people of all colors together in literal harmony.
