    DHLI Tutors

The DHLI Tutors are a group of parent and community volunteers who commit to meeting in small groups with students in K-1st grade every week in order to support their literacy growth. They will be trained by the DH Dyslexia Team to perform fluency checks and track student Fry sight word knowledge. Each DHLI tutor will be assigned a group of students to meet with 20 minutes 2-3 times per week. They will track student growth and complete activities designed to increase their reading fluency and comprehension. There will be both a Spanish and an English DHLI Tutor group, with classroom teachers nominating students that would most benefit from this intervention. The program will only focus on grades K-1st this school year, but aim to expand to 2nd grade by next school year.
