Mission Statement – Student Engagement and School Completion

The Mission of the Department of Student Engagement and School Completion (SESC) is to engage all stakeholders by implementing initiatives to ensure all students graduate from high school fully prepared for a career, community leadership and/or post-secondary education.  Fort Worth ISD’s Comprehensive Truancy Intervention Program (CTIP) is based on a concept of prevention, intervention, and wraparound services to address the social, emotional, environmental, behavioral needs of students and their family as it relates to truancy

Our staff includes 14 - Stay-In-School Coordinators, 1 - Court Coordinator, and administrative and clerical support staff.  We strive to find ways to better serve the Fort Worth Community.  The Comprehensive Truancy Intervention Program is based on a concept of prevention, intervention, and wraparound services to address the needs of students and their families as it relates to truancy.  Our approach to addressing issues of truancy is restorative.

    Goals

The Student Engagement and School Completion Department’s Comprehensive Truancy Intervention Program (CTIP) is designed to address the ongoing challenges that student face when presented with all the issues related to Truancy (Dropping Out, being Pushed Out, or being Pulled Out).  Our goal is to address the underlining issues related to truancy and return the student back to the classroom and back on the path towards graduation.  These goals are measured by analyzing the long-term plan for Comprehensive Truancy Intervention Program (CTIP) impact and reduction in the number of students who drop-out of school while at the same time tracking the District’s Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and graduation rates.
