David Saenz, CHIEF OF INNOVATION

David Saenz is a visionary leader with more than 20 years of experience in public education as a successful problem solver, strategic planner, and school leader at both the campus and district levels. His first 12 years in Irving ISD he served as a middle school science teacher, middle school Assistant Principal, and Middle School Principal.
David joined Fort Worth ISDs central office team in 2014 and has become an integral contributor in preparing all students for success in college, career, and community leadership. During his first two and half years with FWISD David served as leadership director overseeing operations of eighteen K-12 campuses. David’s next assignment as the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education began in January 2017, which led to his appointment in September 2017 to lead the consolidation of several departments, creating the Department of College and Career Readiness.
In February 2019, David was selected as Senior Officer for the Office of Innovation. In this new role, David’s Office of Innovation now manages the College and Career Readiness Department as well as the Office of Innovation. The Office of Innovation is the driver for the design and development of partnerships focused to ensure quality educational opportunities in every facet of Fort Worth ISD.
In June 2020, The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education approved new personnel appointments, resulting in a reorganization of School Leadership and the District office. David Saenz, was appointed as Fort Worth ISD’s first Chief Innovation Officer.
