Degrees and Certifications:
University of Texas at Arlington
Professor of AP Human Geography
I began my teaching career at Keller High School in 2005. I taught there for 13 years, mainly teaching AP World History but also World Geography, Practical Law, Psychology and Sociology. I was the department chair for 7 years and I co-sponsored the Youth and Government Club and the Multicultural Club during my tenure. I also became an AP Reader for AP World History and have done that for the last 6 years.
This is my first year at TCC-South ECHS, and I look forward to teaching AP Human Geography for the first time. I also look forward to being a class sponsor and helping with the UIL Current Events team.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington through the Honors College with a degree in History and a minor in Philosophy. Later, I went back to UTA to get my teaching certificate and completed 30 hours of Master’s work in the History of Cartography.
I live in Spokane Valley, WA with my wife and 6, count them, 6 dogs! I will be working in Texas during the school year and summering in Washington. I am proud of my two sons, Justin and Taylor, and of my two step-daughters, Casey and Tia. My wife has a realtor license in Washington and works for a small realtor group in Spokane.
“I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” - Isaac Newton
