Online Registration and Enrollment

  • Students new to the District should contact their neighborhood school principal as soon as they are settled in Fort Worth. Fall registration, held at individual schools, begins in August, although pre-registration for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are available at some schools in the spring. A child must be age 4 by Sept. 1 to enter pre-kindergarten and age 5 by Sept. 1 to enter kindergarten.

    >> Need information about pre-kindergarten? View a list of items needed for registration and find your school.

    • To find out what school your child will attend, see our online school locator

    • To register, parents can now start using our Online Registration System. Using your email address, you can set up an account and begin filling out personal information in minutes.

    • Students transferring into the District from another district or state will need their report cards and immunization records. Contact the individual school about registration for transfer students.

    • Records normally required of all students in order to enroll are NOT required of students who are in homeless situations in order to enroll. This includes proof of residency, proof of guardianship, school or immunization records, birth certificates, and social security cards. For assistance enrolling a homeless student, please contact  O.P.E.N. Doors at 817-814-2875.

    Online Registration FAQs

PARENTS: Anyone who uses the Online Registration System will have their submitted information reviewed and may be contacted for additional documentation by the Data Clerk before their child’s enrollment is approved and any information is transferred into FOCUS.

New vs. Returning Student – What’s the process?

New students to Fort Worth ISD MUST complete the entire registration process, which includes turning in their documentation (birth certificate, immunization, proof of address, etc.) to campus. However, the parent of returning students may simply update their information using the Online Registration System.

Anyone who uses the Online Registration System will have their submitted information reviewed and may be contacted for additional documentation by the Data Clerk before their child’s enrollment is approved and any information is transferred into FOCUS.

What about Program/School of Choice students?

Parents of returning program of choice (POC) and school of choice (SOC) students may choose their campus ONLY if they are returning students.

New students to a POC or SOC will only be able to choose their home school during online registration but can “moved” into their choice campus. If you received an acceptance letter, you will not lose your space by choosing your home school!

If the parent submits completed online registration, it is much easier to move the information electronically in FOCUS, the student information system.

What if my child is a transfer student?

Transfer students will only be able to choose their home school during online registration but can be “moved” to their transfer campus once approved.

Does the enrollment packet need to be printed or is this step optional?

It is not necessary for PARENTS to print the packet.  Parents may print the enrollment packet at the school if needed.
