The Fort Worth Independent District (ISD) is excited to welcome all new teachers.  Fort Worth ISD is committed to supporting all educators, whether you are new to the district or new to the teaching profession. Newly hired teachers are required to attend the New Teacher Academy and will be compensated each day at their daily rate. The academy will take place from July 31 - August 4, 2023.

What is the New Teacher Academy?

The Fort Worth ISD, New Teacher Academy, is a week of professional learning and interaction designed to maximize the success of new teachers. The academy is for all newly hired teachers to better prepare them for a successful year. Our goal is to support new teachers by providing essential professional learning opportunities to support a successful school year.

Compensation

New Teacher Academy is open to FWISD teachers who are new to the district and/or new to the profession.

• New Teacher contracts begin on July 31st. Therefore, new teachers will be compensated for the week of July 31 – August 4, 2023. 
• New teachers will receive pay from the New Teacher Academy on the November 2023 paycheck.
