• FLEX PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OVERVIEW

(View the Flex Day Guidance Document to receive full details.)

The Fort Worth ISD FLEX Professional Learning Program promotes a comprehensive approach to teacher engagement in professional learning. The program supports the District's instructional priorities, T-TESS goals, Campus Improvement Plans, student data, teacher interests, and needs. The FLEX Professional Learning Program is mutually beneficial to teachers, campuses, and the District. The approach –

    • Sharpens the focus of professional learning around district initiatives, resources, and instructional priorities.

    • Increases access to professional learning while reducing teacher time away from classroom instruction and substitute teacher costs.

    • Guides school leaders and teachers as developers of individualized professional learning plans in Eduphoria.

The FLEX Professional Learning Program provides teachers with opportunities to earn 18 hours of professional learning focused on district priorities. Teachers can engage in the FLEX Professional Learning Program during off-contract hours throughout the summer, fall, spring, or on the 3 District FLEX Days identified on the Fort Worth ISD calendar.

  • Through the FLEX Professional Learning Program, teachers receive 3-days (18 hours) of paid professional learning. The 3-days of professional learning are part of the regular teaching contract.
