Mr. Balian

Instructional Coach

My name is Richard Balian. I'm originally from Los Angeles, California, and worked in social services and education for several years before moving to Texas almost 10 years ago. As for education in Texas, I currently work as a Campus Instructional Coach, and have previously worked as a teacher in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades in various districts and in different capacities (this is my second time in FWISD). I love instructional coaching since it gives me an opportunity to nurture and strengthen the teachers, which in turn, can have such a positive affect on the students. At home, I have a wife (Maria) and 2 sons (Michael, who is almost 19 and a freshman at UNT, and John, who is 15 and a sophomore in high school).

Mrs. Luttrell

School Counselor

As the School Counselor, I collaborate with parents, teachers, and community partners to prevent and eliminate barriers from our students learning. I embrace each student's individual uniqueness and guide them to explore and pursue their own academic and career opportunities. I can honestly say that being a School Counselor is my dream profession. I love coming to work each day and being a part of the Versia family is a bonus! This is my 7th year as a School Counselor. I received my undergraduate degree from Kansas State University, "Go State!" and went on to complete two Masters, one in Education and one in Counseling. I have two boys, Noah (8th grade) and Zay (6th grade) who keep me busy with their activities. When I am not their uber driver, I enjoy being outside working in my flowerbed, playing & watching sports, listening to audiobooks and laughing with friends and family.

My undergrad degree is in Communications, and I have an MBA from the University of Dallas. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my family (especially my nieces and nephews) and my friends. I also enjoy crafts and painting.
