Teacher Incentive Allotment

  • Fort Worth ISD is excited to offer our teachers are realistic pathway to earning substantially more money for their great work. It's the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), passed by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3. The approval process for a district's TIA plan is rigorous and involves many stakeholders.

The Fort Worth ISD TIA Guidebook is published and linked below. For general information about TIA, please visit https://tiatexas.org.

During the 2021-2022 school year, FWISD initiated the TIA process and received approval from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for Cohort D, which included 1,674 K-8 reading and math teachers across 100 campuses. Out of those submitted, 267 teachers were recognized for exceeding performance measures in teacher evaluations and student growth in reading or math! This is a great achievement, and we are proud to celebrate our teachers who are making significant gains in student academic growth.

Our goal is to attract and retain teachers who make a positive impact on our students' lives. Should a teacher not earn a designation as part of the eligibility band, they are eligible for consideration in the next year’s eligibility band should they meet the requirements of the TIA Cohort. Cohort E will include additional PK-12 educators in identified teaching assignments, with the aim of expanding to include all eligible PK-12 educators in future years.

Coupled with the teacher evaluation system, continuous improvement cycle and student growth measures, a teacher will have multiple opportunities to demonstrate growth to earn a designation award. For teachers earning a designation award this year, the allotment will be included in the July 2023 paycheck.

Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a high-quality education for our students. Education is in a state of emergency, and by recognizing our teachers' hard work and dedication, we are bringing our District one step closer to achieving our goals.
