Alethia Brown

Assistant Principal

Hello friends. My name is Alethia Brown and I am a proud member of the Carlson family. I grew up in Monroe, La., the first of two daughters. My first images of great educators were my parents. My mother had a profound influence on my career choice. She was an elementary school teacher for almost 30 years who had a passion for working with children. I believe watching her for all those years created that same teaching  passion in me. At age 10, my sister was born, and my teaching experience began. I would say she was my first student and a success because of me. (She might disagree.)😇

After graduating from high school, I attended Louisiana Tech University, where I earned a B.A. in elementary education. I began my teaching career in Shreveport, La.  During my five year tenure there, I continued my quest for learning and earned a M. Ed in Educational Administration. I then moved to Fort Worth and was inspired by the phenomenal principals who supported, encouraged, and challenged my growth as an educational leader. I began another undertaking to learn more at the University of North Texas where I became certified as a Mid-management administrator.

Although I have worked at several different campuses since I arrived in Fort Worth, I believe I have found my home at Alice Carlson. The dedication of the staff and the autonomy of the students is both enchanting and innovative. We believe, at Carlson,  in empowering students to do whatever they can do for themselves. This truly is an amazing school, but don’t take my word for it. I invite you to come and see for yourself. My door is always open should you want to visit or just say hello.  Go Carlson Coyotes!!!
