On Thursday, April 19th, FWISD hosted its 2023 Senior Portfolio Show. Close to 100 senior artists submitted portfolios to the competition. This event is a culmination of a student's work in high school, and they submit their 12 best pieces.
Seniors Candace West, Micah Haney, and Carlos Moran's portfolios were submitted this year. In the end, only 10 seniors can advance with their portfolios. Carlos Moran and Micah Haney both made the Top Ten. I'm proud to say Mrs. Evans at Heights and I were the only teachers with multiple kids in the Top Ten.
From here, the Top Ten will have their own month-long show at the Arts Fort Worth gallery. On May 5th, the Top Three will be announced at the show's opening reception and will receive scholarships.
Wish them luck going forward to the Top Ten finals.
