  • New Teacher Selection Process for the 2019-2020 School Year

    1. Submit Online Application. The first step to becoming a teacher in Fort Worth ISD begins with the completion of the online application for the appropriate teacher pool. By filling out a single application, you will access opportunities across FWISD.  Along with completing the application, candidates are also required to attach a current resume outlining educational training, certifications and licensures obtained, work experiences, and complete a the ZeroRisk® Hiring System Profile.     2. Eligibility and Application Review.  Prior to entering the interview pool, your eligibility for open positions will be assessed through review of certification for the assignment and grade level, legal history, and employment history. Eligible applications will then be assessed for quality and fit with FWISD.
    3. Candidate Pool.  Once entered into our Candidate Pool you will interview with principals for individual school vacancies.

    Another critical component of the application process entails thorough and substantive responses to our vision and essay question answering how, as a Fort Worth ISD educator you would ignite a passion for learning. Applications without the required resume and an appropriate response to the essay question will not advance in the preliminary screening process. 

    Entering the Teacher Pool 

    Candidates successfully demonstrating the core teacher competency skills as well be selected and placed in the appropriate teacher pool(s) and considered for exciting Fort Worth ISD teacher opportinities and early contracts for the 2019-2020 school year. Selected candidates are immediately accessible to Principals and invited to exclusive events sponsored by the Office of Human Capital Management, including hiring events and  in-person interviews.     Campus Interview 

    After advancing forward during the prelimary screening process, successful candidates will be entered into a pool. Upon entrance into the Teacher Pool, campus principals will then have access to your information and will make contact for campus interviews.
