Information on Open Records Requests
Fort Worth Independent School District (District) is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA). The TPIA requires the District to treat all requests for information uniformly without regard to the position or occupation of the requestor, the person on whose behalf the request is made, or the status of the individual as a member of the media. Tex. Gov. Code § 552.223.
Requests for transcripts and diplomas should be directed to the Student Record Services Department at (817) 814-3250. Requests for student education records for students currently enrolled in the District should be directed to the campus principal.
Requests for employee service records should be directed to the Employee Records Department at (817) 814-2760. Service records may be requested online by going to the Employee Records Department webpage.
All other requests for information must be submitted in writing and should contain the following:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Fax number (if applicable)
- Description of the information and/or document(s) being requested

The Fort Worth Independent School District has designated the email address firstname.lastname@example.org as the District's official email to receive any and all TPIA requests. As such, requests for information that are sent to any other District email address are not considered "received" and will not be processed unless the requestor sends the request to email@example.com.
Please include "Public Information Request" or "Open Records Request" in the subject line of your email.
NOTICE: Due to the deteriorating weather conditions that have intermittently impacted FWISD District operations beginning on Thursday, February 11, 2021 and which will likely continue during the week of February 15, 2021, please be advised that you may experience a delay in receiving a response to your open records request. Please continue to consult this website for information on when we will resume normal business operations.
UPDATED NOTICE: Weather conditions throughout the region interrupted FWISD District operations and limited available staff on Thursday, February 11, 2021; Monday, February 15 – Friday, February 19, 2021; and Monday, February 22, 2021- Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Responses to requests for public information submitted prior to or during this period of limited operations may be delayed. FWISD resumed normal business operations on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
