Girls Basketball Coaching Staff

Dave Geer - Varsity Head Coach - david.geer@fwisd.org

Coach Geer is entering his fifth year as the head coach of the Lady Panther basketball program. This is Coach Geer’s 36th year as an educator and coach. Since coming to Paschal HS, he has gained the respect of his opponent coaches, turning a program that had lost 69 games in a row into double digit win seasons and more district wins in the last 5 years than the previous 20 years combined.  Coach Geer is extremely proud of having 25 players make the TABC All State Academic team in 4 years and averaging 10 student-athletes a year to the academic all-district team each year as the head coach. “I am so proud of what our girls do off the court, in the classroom and with community projects.  Our teachers here are amazing and I appreciate the hard work the coaching staff past and present does to make sure the athletes are attending class and staying on top of their academic progress.”

Coach G, as he is known on our campus, started his coaching career in Louisiana. He led teams to the state semi-finals twice, 5 straight sweet sixteen appearances and three state tournaments as both a boy and girls’ coach. He then took his coaching talents to the collegiate level, starting as the associate head coach at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, then as the head coach of the Pilots men’s program. In his first two years as the head coach, his teams fell one game short of making the NAIA National Tournament losing to Tarleton State and Southwestern Texas.  He is 4th on the all-time wins list there. Then he moved to Texas and started coaching in the metroplex in RISD, DISD, BISD, and Mansfield ISD before landing in Panther Nation!  He won his 400th game Nov.19, 2019 with the Lady Panthers!

Coach G received his M.ED in Curriculum Education/Special Education from Louisiana State University BR and Shreveport. He has a BA degree in Physical Education from Baptist Christian College where he excelled as a student athlete making the deans list every semester while setting numerous school records as a baseball and basketball standout.

He has two children Courtney and Skylar and four grandchildren, Axel (4) Olivia (2) Viviana (2) and new born Nola! He loves spending time with them reading and playing tea party!  He also loves fishing, traveling, and hanging with his canine buddy Boston, taking him for rides in his truck.

Favorite motto: “ Be that One who makes Everyone feel like Someone.”
