Terra Thomas ran a Personal Best today in the 100 and 200 meter dash. She will compete at Texas A&M Commerce on April 25th along with the boys that qualified. Please congratulate her on another step toward a State Run.

The Lady Cougars represented Western Hills well at the district meet yesterday. 

JV:
LaTyra Givens 1st 100 Hurdles
Rnya Carr 3rd 100 Hurdles
Cyerra Leonard 4th by a hair 100m run & 5th in the 200
London Shannon 6th in discus

Varsity:
Terra Thomas advances to Area as she placed 4th in the 200 and 5th in the 100
Jelissa Spells placed 7th in the 100 and 7th in the 200
Riley Watts placed 7th in the Long jump improving over 5.5 feet this year First year to compete.

Terra Thomas and Cyerra Leonard won second place in their divisions of the 200 meters.

LyTyra Givens placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles
Jelissa Seplls placed 4th in the 200m 

It was a marathon meet.

Saturday, February 16, the Girls Track Team traveled to Weatherford to compete in the Roo Relays.  Top 6 place finishers were:

Terra Thomas - 1st 200 meter dash
4x200 meter relay- 4th place (R'nya Carr, Terra Thomas, Jelissa Spells and LaTyra Givins)
Jelissa Spells - 5th 100 meter dash
La Tyra Givins- 6th in the 100 hurdles and long jump 

We had others that placed but didn't metal or score points.

I was proud of the girls dealing with the 27° weather and delay of start. All represented Western Hills in a positive and honorable way. 

Our next meet is February 21st at Brewer.
