    CARE CLOSET

One such service managed by Eastside Alliance is the Eastern Hills High School Highlander Care Closet. The Care Closet is located in a portable building on the campus and is opened up to students and their families on an as-needed basis on school days. It was created as a partnership between FWISD and the Fort Worth Police Department Homeless Unit as a not-for-profit to provide at-risk students with clothing and hygiene products that will enable them to attend school, reduce absenteesism, and raise their self esteem.

Donations of new or clean teen-appropriate clothing, school uniforms, toiletries, backpacks and school supplies are welcome. EHHS uses an entire portable building for its Closet, with half of it used for sorting and storage of donations, while the other two Care Closets at Arlington Heights H.S. and North Side H.S.  have limited storage space. Donations to the EHHS Closet are made available to the other Closets on an as-needed basis. If you wish to donate specifically to AHHS or NSHS, please contact them directly. Donations to the EHHS Care Closet at 5701 Shelton St., Fort Worth, 76112, can be arranged by the front office at 817-815-4000 or through the Eastside Alliance offices at 817-815-4170. Donations may also be dropped off at the FWPD Homeless Unit substation at 1509 E. Lancaster Ave, but please call 817-851-2520 before coming to ensure someone is there to accept your items. Monetary donations made out to the Eastern Hills Care Closet are also accepted.

To access the Care Closet, students or their parents should speak to their Counselor at the school for a referal.
