Susan Williamson

My name is Susan Williamson.  I am a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University.  I am certified in Full Bilingual Education, with endorsements in ESL and Early Childhood.  I have taught at H. V. Helbing Elementary for over twenty years.  Ironically, I grew up in the Diamond Hill community and graduated from Diamond Hill High School.  My philosophy for education is that each child has the seed of great potential growing within them, it is up to us, their parents, teachers, and community, to prepare them for a successful future.  I love this community and it has been my greatest priviledge to serve the children here at H. V. Helbing.

Mrs. Stephanie Garcia

5 years teaching experience

(Theater Arts, Coding/Computer Science, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 1st grade)

My aspirations for my students is that they are learning something new each day. I hope that everything they have learned will be taken with them and they continue to grow even outside of the classroom. I hope to inspire the love of learning within my students so they are excited to come to school each day. I encourage my students to reach for their goals by using all the skills we have learned to solve problems and support their journey as life-long learners.

Sonia Ward

My name is Sonia Ward and I have taught at H.V. Helbing for seven years. Helbing is my first and hopefully I will be here a long time. I am an immigrant that has proudly become an American citizen. My education began in Chihuahua, Mexico with a degree and Accounting, transferring in the US as a Degree in Business Administration. I have completed a second degree at TCC and received certifications in Generalist and Bilingual Education Supplemental-Spanish.

I am married to a wonderful man and have three beautiful children. My youngest is attending Helbing and benefiting from the standards of education we practice. I believe education is the greatest gift children can receive. It provides a path for children to achieve dreams and thrive in life. Educating children requires great effort, dedication and most importantly team work. Teachers, parents and even communities working together is the key to the success of our children.

Mrs. Brenda Bailey

I am a graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I taught for almost ten years when life changes happened and I spent eight years in a job assisting new mothers. This is my first year at H.V. Helbing and I am excited to be back in the classroom!

When I am not at school, I am spending time with my family. I have been married for over 45 years. We have three grown children and six amazing grandchildren.

I have a great love for creating, whether it is in the form of cooking, gardening, or sewing. I also love to fish, hunt, and camp.

Fun fact - I am an identical triplet born at 28 weeks gestation. Overcoming the learning difficulties caused by my pre-term birth has given me great empathy for my students.
