Luisa Larrea

My name is Luisa Larrea and I am from Quito, Ecuador, South America. I came to the United States 13 years ago with my family looking for a better future and more opportunity. I have been working as a teacher in H.V. Helbing ever since. I received my teaching degree from a recognized university in Ecuador at Salesian Polytechnic University.

Throughout the years, I have taught a variety of children, whether it be from different backgrounds, or even who speak different languages. I try to teach, lead and help my class in a way that my students will become engaged, disciplined, and self-motivated learners for life. I am a teacher not only by profession, but also by heart.

Regarding my personal life, I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters as well as two precious dogs. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, cooking, watching a good movie, and doing arts and crafts.

I have been married for 19 years. My husband teaches fourth grade dule language at W.J. Turner Elementary (also in FWISD). My husband and I have been blessed with four beautiful children (3 girls, and 1 boy). My oldest daughter is attending Texas A & Min Corpis Christifocusing on pre-med. My other 3 children attend J.P. Elder Middle School. Two of them are in the Mariachi.

I love teaching... especially in the Earily Childhood setting. I have a huge sense of humor and with this age group I can be myself. Thet understand my sense of humor and are just fun loving. Their brains are like little sponges, absorbing everything. Teaching is not just a job for meit is a calling and a blessing to have a career where I get to do what I loveevery day. I can't wait to see what this has in store.
