On Wednesday, December 7th, at Birchman Baptist Church, 37 of our Cadets served America’s Greatest Generation in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and America’s entry into WWII:
There were over 350 attendees to this event, 150 of whom were Veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the more recent Gulf Wars. There were 60 WWII veterans alone ranging in ages of 92 to 101, 5 of them were present at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on 7 Dec 1941; an additional one lost his brother on the U.S.S. Arizona when it went down on the day we were brought into the second world war.
Our Cadets were moved as much as the veterans who walked through their welcoming gauntlet as they were saluted and thanked for being who they are and helping make us who we are today.
You can also view some of our Cadets Essays about the experience.
