• I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA

The new I.M. Terrell Academy STEM and Visual & Performing Arts Academy is a destination for students throughout the district who have a passion for the Arts and/or STEM. The unique combination of programs allows for student diversity and cross-discipline collaboration.

The campus combines the existing historic I.M. Terrell High School building with a new 65,000 SF performing arts center, connected by a unifying, secure courtyard. Set atop a hill with beautiful downtown views, the school is a beacon for the District and the community.

The District began accepting online late applications for the 2019-2020 school year, Friday, March 1 and will receive submissions through this September. Students submitting a late application may only apply for one program.  Access the Gold Seal late application at www.fwisd.org/choice.

Because all applications are submitted online, it’s extremely important that parents have an active email address prior to starting the application process. District employees submitting applications for their own children may use their active directory login.  Families who’ve previously created an online Gold Seal account may use the same username and password to access the late application.

  • VPA Preparatory Academy at Monnig Middle School

The VPA Prep Academy at Monnig MS prepares students for advanced study in Band, Choir, Dance, Orchestra, Piano, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Students will participate in accelerated curriculum, as well as additional field trips, guest speakers, visiting artists, and master classes. Students will share and polish their talents through student performances, community outreach activities, and partnerships with local Arts organizations.

Students may continue this course of study and receive preference in placement at the I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA if this program is selected as their first choice, the application is submitted ontime, and the student meets eligibility requirements.
